Phil's Work

I better get in on this too. These are two of the Jobs I'm doing at the moment. The green plywood job is in West Hartford and the foundations are in New Milford. West Hartford is just about finished and I have to update the photo and it has this new product called Zip Wall board that eliminates the need for Tyvek. Once the building is up you go around and tape the seams on the boards and the building is water tight. The new Milford job was supposed to start back in November, and is now stating May 15th. It will be 6 buildings so it will keep us busy.

Tweet Tweet!

It's officially Spring! I got up this morning to take the puppies out and saw that a birdie had made its nest on the wreath on our front door! Mama Birdie was waiting in the tree next to our house for us to go back in so she could attend to her nest. I got a step-stool out to look at it and there were four blue eggs inside. . . . so cute! I hope we don't scare mama bird away!

Puppy Love

Our blog wouldn't be complete without an entry about the puppies. They are cute as ever, always making us laugh. Maui is a little princess. . .full of personality and sweetness. Moose is a tough little boy who loves to play and fetch the frisbee but most of all loves to play and snuggle with Phil. They are so close. . .its really sweet. This morning, Phil got out of bed first and headed for the shower. . .Moose and Maui sleepily came out from under the covers and plopped down with their heads on Phil's pillow. Here are some pictures - I did not pose them. . .they really snuggle together and use the pillows like this!

Back to Work!

Well. . .we're very glad this weekend is over. Its not to often I am wishing a weekend away, but Phil and I were both sick with this nasty bug that's going around. . .not fun. Wednesday and thursday I tried to go to work, but left halfway through the day. On friday just stayed home altogether. So. . its Monday and I'm much better - back to work for me! For those of you who don't know, I have just started a full time job since finishing school in December. As of May (when I officially get my diploma), I will be a "nutritionist". Right now I am working at a pediatrician's office in Avon. While it doesn't have much to do with nutrition, I am really enjoying it. My job title is a medical receptionist - I spend my day booking appointments for sick little ones, dealing with all the health insurance "stuff" and occaisonally calming down the frantic mother. I work in a small office with one doctor. . . so its very cozy and personal, which is nice for the patients. Part of the reason I love my job so much is because the people I work with are so much fun. There are two other girls in the office - Liz, our medical assistant is wonderful with the kids and always makes us laugh, and Eileen, the office manager has been so great in teaching me the ins and outs of the office, we have a great time chatting through the day. . .she always has a funny story to tell about her little 3 yr. old boy, Finn. Eileen is also a wonderful photographer. . .she recently has created a website displaying her work - i will post a link for it.

I certainly never thought I would enjoy a 9-5 job so much! I will let this be all for now. . .I need to get going!

To Blog or Not to Blog. . .

Well, this blogging thing is pretty cool! About 6 months ago I had no idea what a blog was, and now it seems everyone I know is blogging. So. . .I've joined the bandwagon and set out on a mission to keep the Aussie family updated on what we're up to. Not too much exciting going on at the moment. We recently returned from a wonderful vacation on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. We went with our friends Jobe and Mamie Miles and had a blast in the sunshine! Hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to post pictures soon. . . . . .
