Green thumb? We'll see. . .

Every year I try my hand at a little vegetable garden. . . on my porch. Since we're in a condo, it's not very easy for me to go out a create a true garden bed, as much as I'd like to. So. . .each spring I lug various veggie plants and ginormous bags of organic potting soil through the house to my second-story deck and make myself a little veggie and herb container garden. Despite my efforts, my plants are never as fruitful as I'd like (I guess it doesn't help when your two little Jack Russells like to gobble up the baby tomatoes and cucumbers as soon as they appear -- it's cute, what can I say. . . :-)
Anyway, I was at the store today and saw this little "table" tomato plant. We'll see how it holds up, it's already a little top-heavy but it is just laden with little green tomatoes and promises to be easy to grow. I just loooove the smell of tomatoes on the vine, so if this little beauty holds up I may just have found a solution to my tomato problems.
Now, lets just hope my thumb becomes a little greener this year and I can keep it alive. . .

And just for fun, here's a shot I grabbed today of my little cucumber snitching Maui girl. . .

I will be very curious to hear more about your tabletop tomato plant. I bought myself a tomato gadget--it hangs upside down from a hook on the porch. I hope it works b/c I LOVE the idea of picking a ripe tomato off my very own vine whenever I please. Good luck!
(P.S. Super nice shot of Maui.)

Hi
I didn't realise you loved home grown tomatoes so much. Must throw some in the garden before you come home and see what we can grow in Aussie.
Love ya xx
