Brett & Wheatley's Wedding at the Hilstead -- Farmington, CT

Brett and Wheatley's wedding day was one to remember. . .full of smiles, love, laughter and just to make it interesting. . .no power. Yes, you read that right. Along with this crazy weather we've been having here in New England came a crazy thunderstorm that wreaked havoc on the town of Farmington the day before Brett and Wheatley's wedding, causing 2 days of power outages in most of the surrounding area. Given the crisis and changes to the original schedule of the day, Brett and Wheatley could not have been more calm, gracious, in love and just plain thrilled that they were getting married!

Thankfully, the day of the wedding we actually had beautiful weather. The Hilstead Museum is an absolutely gorgeous location for an outdoor wedding, complete with lovely historic buildings, gardens and rolling hills that seem to go on for miles.

The reception was a blast. . .it was a bit warm and dimly lit but boy did the everybody have a good time!! Brett & Wheatley were all smiles. . .

Finally, more than a sneak peek! Here are more shots from my afternoon second shooting with Eileen in the cute shore-line town of Westport. 

We found this fabulous brownstone building covered in Ivy. I think I scared Eileen when I first saw it, I was so excited. It was a beeaauuutiful spot to shoot!

We came across this great cupcake shop, Crumbs. The cupcakes were absolutely unreal. They had every flavor imaginable. If you're in the mood for a cupcake, this is the place to go!

A sweet moment (pun intended :-)

We came across this beautiful design studio, Lynne Scalo Design. The elegance of it just seemed to fit the mood and their beautiful dress clothes. We had a lot of fun shooting here.

Chris & Bethany

What an awesome day! My friend (and hairdresser!) Bethany asked me over today to get some shots of the family while they are all around for the holidays. It was a great big family shoot. . .in pieces. I started off with Bethany and her husband Chris. . .they have been married now for 5 years and are so cute and in love! Chris recently swept Bethany off for a romantic anniversary weekend at a B&B in Boston (check out her blog for the full story!) and we thought it would only be fitting to finished out the year with some romantic shots of the two them. Next, I caught a couple family shots and then did a maternity shoot for Bethany's sister-in-law who is just about due! Stay tuned for more shots!
